The Rain In Spain...

It's finally raining! It's amazing. It's really mild compared to the rain that we get at home, for a few days it was just teasing hints of sprinkle, and then today it has been raining quite hard for a few hours. Our family was pretty happy, this morning my seƱora was talking about it quite a bit. It's been a pretty big deal, that what would happen if we just suddenly had no water. She was saying that we would still have water to cook with and drink, because you can buy that, but water for like showers and laundry and such, well, it wouldn't exist. She talked like it had happened before, but she didn't say for sure and I didn't ask. I also realized after that I should have asked about emergency services, like we have in the states, if those exist here, and to what extent would they go to help, like are there emergency reserves and such, or can they bring it in from Madrid, questions like those. But, I did not ask. Oh well.
She was saying that the weather here is normally so different this time of year, that it normally is really cold and snowy and that it rains/snows a lot, etc. It really had not rained or snowed or anything in a month, well, over a month, since we had been here. So, hopefully, this will signal a bit more weather and the water situation will improve. If it doesn't, I can't imagine what it would be like here this summer...
